
CMS Global attend Offshore Renewables Event
Offshore Renewables Accessing the Supply Chain.
Invest NI hosted the Crown Estate, “Offshore Renewables Accessing the Supply Chain” event at the Ramada Hotel, Belfast on Tuesday 8th March. This event saw over 350 attendees and an excellent line up of presentations from Centrica, NOW Ireland, Belfast Harbour, Dong, Strabag Offshore Wind, Harland and Wolff, Seimens, SSE, MRIA, P&O, Marine Current Turbines and the Crown Estate who announced an offshore renewable energy leasing round commencing this September 2011. This announcement was welcomed by Robin Newton, Junior Minister from the Office of the Minister and Deputy First Minister, as a huge opportunity for investment for Northern Ireland.
CMS Global had strong representation at the event by exhibiting and holding a workshop, with the Global Energy Supply Chain, the Global Maritime Alliance and the Global Wind Alliance all in attendance. Clifford McSpadden Chief Executive of CMS Global, presented at the workshop and commented, “I am delighted to see the continued commitment to the growth of the offshore wind energy market, the significant business opportunity this brings and that the Global Wind Alliance, the Global Maritime Alliance and the Global Energy Supply Chain are ideally placed to support the requirements of this long term commercial development.”
